Cathulhu Online, MUNYA!

Chapter 220 Cat Dad’s Sinister Strategy

Chapter 220 – Cat Dad’s Sinister Strategy

At 6 AM, Xiaomao and every guild war participant received their first notification messages of the day.

DING

<All participating guilds can now vote for the Third Round Battlefield Theme.>

<Please choose three battlefields that you wish to fight in. Bear in mind that the order of the vote affects the vote count.>

<First Choice’s Vote Count = Your Level x 1.2.>

<Second Choice’s Vote Count = Your Level x 1.1.>

<Third Choice’s Vote Count = Your Level.>

Xiaomao didn’t vote right away. He returned to his guild lobby and chatted with his guild members.

The mermen, the boys, and Lucky were already up. They were in the middle of preparing their gear, items, and equipment for the next match.

Xiaomao called his subordinates over.

“You should already receive the messages, munya. I want everybody to vote for the Open Sea map as your first choice, then Twin Islands and Archipelago for your second and third choice, munya.”

Lucky raised her hand, “What is the vote for, master?”

“It’s the new update, munya.”

Xiaomao explained the updates to the crew. The mermen and the boys nodded as they understood why they should coordinate their votes.

“Our forces have the overwhelming advantage in sea battles, so we want to fight in one of those three maps. It might be impossible for this round, but our overall level advantage will soon come into play when the number of guilds is fewer.”

At the moment, 2,048 guilds remained. During the previous two rounds, many guilds were eliminated as they lacked online members. Every guild must send 100 online guild members to join the war, but many level-1 guilds failed to manage internet strangers to be online at the appointed date and time, thus they got disqualified when their matches came up.

204,800 people had the right to vote for the third round’s map. Although Xiaomao’s subordinates were high-leveled, they couldn’t possibly outvote the 200,000 players. Xiaomao gave up this round, but he told his men to coordinate their votes anyway, hoping for a miracle.

The mermen united as one. They picked the Open Sea map as their first choice. Then, they followed Xiaomao’s instructions on picking the second and third preferred map.

The vote was concluded at 6.50, and the result was quickly tallied and showed at 6.50 AM.

The number one choice was the River map, where a large river was the border between the two castles. Three large bridges were the only paths to the enemy’s territory, but there was an interesting dam at the north of the map, which could be used to do something with the massive 2 km width river.

Xiaomao snickered, “Not that we want, but we can make use of this.”

The mermen cheered as they thought that they might be able to contribute something.

<Next match, MUNYA Guild (World 3) VS Southern Edge 7 (World Two)

At 7 AM flat, MUNYA Guild’s members were teleported to the battlefield as usual. Because they were in Bracket A’s first slot, the organizers forced them to fight first every time.

When Xiaomao appeared in his headquarters castle, he rushed out on a flying sword and brought out a weapon. On the shaft, something was written on it.

NO HORNY

It was Xiaomao’s bonk stick and the mage staff that he always used. Because Xiaomao had smacked Lucky’s head so many times, he wrote the staff to remind her what it was for.

When Xiaomao crossed the river and found his opponent’s castle, he immediately stopped flying forward. The guild leader of the Southern Edge 7 was also riding on his flying sword, hovering over his castle.

Sima Liang, Level 217

The person was a cultivator. However, Sima Liang seemed to have guessed Xiaomao’s intention and chose to stay away from the castle walls.

The cultivator bellowed, “I know what you’re trying to do, stupid cat! Too bad for you, I come from a harsh server! If we compare server two and server three, your server is just an easy mode, but we’re surviving on the hardcore mode! Your petty trick won’t work against my guild!”

WHOOSH

Like the previous guild that Xiaomao fought, the SE7 guild sent ten low-level players to collect quests.

Seeing the players coming out, Xiaomao piloted his flying sword to climb the altitude. The sword slanted 45 degrees and took off.

A couple seconds later, Xiaomao’s sword and his head hit something hard in the middle of the sky.

DING

<You cannot fly higher than 500 meters above the ground without a battlefield’s flying vehicle.>

Xiaomao furrowed his brows.

‘Ninja nerf, I see.’

Earlier, Xiaomao planned to take the advantage of a higher altitude to bombard Sima Liang’s castle with ranged attacks. But since he was limited to 500 meters above the ground, many of Xiaomao’s skills might not even reach the castle.

Since the rules were against him, Xiaomao changed his strategy. He flew closer to the safe zone.

200 meters away from Sima Liang’s castle walls, a red border was barely visible. A wall that rose to Heaven showed Xiaomao the range of Obelisk Towers that protected his opponent’s guild during the first five minutes.

Xiaomao stopped his flying sword in front of the safe zone boundary. He maintained the 500-meter altitudes and looked down.

The SE7’s quest grabbers sprinted back to their castles with 10 NPCs in tow. But because these people and Sima Liang were in a rush, they didn’t completely open the bronze gates and make a bigger path for their retreat. As a consequence, there was a bottleneck at the gate – The players and NPC couldn’t get behind the castle walls at once, and they wasted time opening the heavy gate manually to make way for others.

Xiaomao laughed at their mistake. He twirled his staff and ice spikes shot up from the ground, blocking the way into the castle.

BOOM

A second later, a shaman fireball landed in the middle of the crowd, killing five players and two NPCs on the spot. Five NPCs were critically injured while the other players were out of range.

Another cyclone of spirit blades manifested in front of the gate and moved toward the crowd. Within seconds, all NPCs and weak players were slaughtered by the sharp blades.

As cruel as it might be, Xiaomao didn’t flinch after he killed the nameless NPCs.

The quest-rush tactic was thwarted, but Sima Liang was in a safe location. Xiaomao couldn’t reach him with his USUAL magic.

The catopus pouted, “You leave me no choice, cultivator. Don’t blame me for being merciless, munya!”
